Project Description:

Eichleay was contracted for this multi-year $300+ million effort to significantly increase red and white wine processing and storage capacity at the largest winery in the world. Scope included crush pit upgrades, solids handling, red fermentation, cooperage, press upgrades, electrical infrastructure, and utility distribution. At its peak, construction manpower surpassed 325 people.

Winery Expansion - Fresno, CA

Project Description:

Eichleay was awarded this major facility expansion, encompassing several process improvement projects, to increase yield at the second largest winery in the world. The scope of this $50+ million undertaking included crush area modifications, solids management, and cooperage expansions. At its peak, construction manpower surpassed 100 people.

Red Fermentation Winery Expansion - Healdsburg, CA

Project Description:

Eichleay provided all phases of engineering for the installation of twenty-two red fermentation and transfer tanks, a rolling bladder press, two rotary screens, and significant ancillary equipment. The design incorporated gravity flow wherever possible to allow for the gentle handling of the juice. Utility designs included heating and cooling systems for the tanks, as well as extensive upgrades to the existing infrastructure.

Project Description:

Eichleay was responsible for all phases of engineering for the addition of four new presses, ten program tanks, and a large manifold to an existing white wine processing system. This project also involved the installation of significant process, utility, coveyance, and SO2 injection systems.

Whole Cluster Grape Delivery and Fermentation Expansion - St. Helena, CA

Project Description:

Eichleay was responsible for the detailed design and engineering for ten fermentation tanks to increase the winery’s red fermenting capacity by 85,000 gallons, as well as a Whole Cluster Conveying System.  Scope of the projects included the must piping from the Crush Pit to the new tankage, conveyor design, chilled water, a process waste drainage system, concrete foundations, aluminum catwalks, pipe supports, process utility stations, an electrical load study, and tie-ins to the winery power system.

Red Wine Production Expansion - Napa, CA

Project Description:

Eichleay delivered this new Red Fermentation Production Facility which included presses and fermentation tanks of various sizes housed under a 90,000 sf pre-fabricated canopy. Execution strategy was a multi-phase approach over a 5 year period intended to increase the capacity of the winery by approximately 1,000 tons per year. Design services included the mat foundation for the canopy, tanks and presses, site drainage and grading, catwalks, lighting, transfer panels, process lines, refrigeration, water, compressed air, nitrogen, and power.

Physically Refined Oil Plant - Sacramento, CA

Project Description:

Eichleay designed, specified, and provided construction support for a new bleaching and refining process plant for consumer-grade coconut oil. The plant consisted of a 5-story steel structure containing numerous pressure and vacuum vessels, pumps, leaf filters, heat exchangers, screw conveyors, and two large dry material silos with a process floor area of approximately 11,000 sf. Design of off plot support systems included a cooling tower, effluent lift station, tank modifications, railcar unloading system for dry bleaching earth, dry material pneumatic conveying system, and 12KV substation modifications.
